Intuit announced a new round of AI tools for small businesses on October 27, and one number stands out for any owner who has ever waited on an invoice. Intuit says customers who use its outstanding-invoice notifications and AI-drafted reminders get paid four days faster on average than comparable customers using standard reminders.

The problem is getting bigger

According to the 2026 Intuit QuickBooks Small Business Late Payments Report, 59% of small businesses have invoices overdue by at least 30 days. A year ago, the share was 47%. Chasing payments is the kind of job that slides to the end of a long day.

What Intuit found

Intuit’s analysis compared customers using its invoice notifications and AI-drafted reminders with comparable customers using standard reminders. The analysis ran from March 2025 to March 2026, and it does not guarantee similar results for every business. Four days is an average, not a promise.

Why this is a good first job for AI (our take)

  • It is repetitive. The same polite message, a different customer each time.
  • It is quick to check. You can read a reminder in seconds before it goes out.
  • It is easy to measure. Count the days it takes to get paid, before and after.

The coverage of the announcement also adds a sensible note for any owner: automated bookkeeping and financial recommendations still need a person to review them.

Try it this week

  1. Look at your overdue invoices and pick the message you send most often.
  2. Write down how you want it to sound: friendly, firm, short.
  3. Ask your AI tool for a first draft in that voice.
  4. Read it, fix anything that is off, and send it yourself.
  5. Note how many days invoices take to get paid over the next month.

What Forjance is doing

Forjance’s AI team is already at work inside real businesses, handling the day-to-day: customer replies, reports to the owner, social content and marketing documents. It works the same way as the example above:

  1. It drafts the routine work. Your people start from a first version, not a blank page.
  2. It speaks your language. It is set up around your company and the way your people talk.
  3. You stay in control. It is private to your business. Nothing goes out until a person on your side approves it.

Pick one message you send over and over, and let AI draft it. Forged, not found.
